A Day in the Life

October 9, 2016

img_4034-copy

Our days around here tend to be either very routine, OR very eventful. I take a lot of photos on those eventful days where we take trips to amusements parks, but I have to remember to take pictures of just our day to day routine. Our blog share this month is all about “A Day in the Life”, so I scrapbooked some photos of a typical routine on the weekend!

I love the color combination in this new Stampin’ Up! Project Life card collection – Good Vibes. Modern, but bright and fun.

We spent the morning just running errands – Target, the nursery for new plants for the yards, a bit of lunch.

img_3960-copy

My favorite thing about this day was the weather – it was the first day that actually felt like autumn had arrived. It was a bit cool – cool enough to pull my boots out of the closet for the first time this season. There were some gorgeous clouds in the sky and there was a brief shower in the afternoon; just enough to leave us with that fresh rain scent for the rest of the day.

Project Life by Stampin Up

Bathtime copy

Welcome! This month’s blog hop is all about card collections that are retiring soon, so if you like what you see, grab these now while you can! I just recently ordered the Love Story card collection, and am so glad I ordered a few sets of them, since they are retiring this collection. The cards are absolutely gorgeous and I really think they can be used for many purposes besides romantic themes. I found a lot of uses for these cards when scrapbooking photos of my kids.

For the “bathtub” page above, I just stamped a small “so much fun” stamp from the “Happy Times” Stampin’ Up!- Project Life collection (also retiring) and stamped the month “January” on the calendar card. Super simple!

It’s tough finding Project Life cards with the color purple/perwinkle in them, like in my little one’s shirt in these photos…and black and white cards are a great option when you can’t find cards to match the colors in your photos. I really like the contrast of the black and white with the bright colors in her paint set.

Project Life

These pages really came together very quickly. I love how easy it is to put something together with neutral colors like black and white and gray!

Project Life Stampin Up

Hi everyone! This month’s challenge was to use only black and white photos. I actually use black and white photos quite a bit, but I usually mix them up with color photos. I don’t often use solely black and white photos on a page, so this was a fun challenge for me!

I’d been wanting to play around with combining one of my favorite ink colors – Calypso Coral – with black and white for quite a while, so this was a great time to do it. The great thing about using black and white photos as well as black and white cards is that you can use your favorite color to add an extra “pop” to the layout.

I used a few Stampin’ Up’ Project Life stamp sets, too. All of the cards are from the Moments Like These collection (my favorite!) except for one of the cards which was just a plain white card.

Both of these pages were very simple. All I had to do was to stamp on two cards on this first page.

On the second page, I used the calendar stamp for the month and days and then circled the day that the photos were taken. I love this stamp!

Project Life Welcome Baby
I like being pushed out of my comfort zone a bit. I’ve never really incorporated metallics into my scrapbooking – but I’m so glad that this month’s blog hop theme was gold and silver, because it gave me the perfect chance to start exploring the gold colors that have been sitting in my craft stash!

I had actually recently purchased some of the gold Stampin’ Up! embossing powder, after seeing gorgeous handmade cards using this powder. I love using embossing powder on Project Life cards, and this gold powder is now one of my favorites.

I used both the gold embossing powder and blushing bride pink embossing powder on this title page for my newborn daughter’s Project Life album. Gold paper was easy to use with my punches to punch out the chevron and circle shapes.

This card is my absolute favorite card from my favorite Stampin’ Up! – Project Life collection – “Moments Like These”, designed by Liz Tamanaha. The “hello” stamp is a recent new favorite from Stampin’ Up! that I LOVE using on a first page for an album.

Project Life Moments Like These

This kit is so versatile, I’ve used it for everything from newborn photos to Disneyland photos. And speaking of Disneyland…

Here’s how I used the Moments Like These cards again, for a Disneyland page.

Project Life Disneyland

I used the coordinating stamp set to stamp some black and gold stars on a plain white 3×4 card. (I replicated a card that came in the collection, which had all black stars on it.)

Project Life Disneyland

This page is part of a 2 page spread, where the other page is a traditional 12×12 page, using other Stampin’ Up! gold washi tape, stamps and gold stickers that I used for the word “disney” from the Moments Like These accessory kit.

Disneyland Scrapbook

Finally, I used some stamps and gold embossing powder, gold vellum paper, and cards from a few different collections to create this 2 page spread of my older daughter. This vellum paper is now one of my go-to items for scrapbooking!

Now make sure to hop around to see what the rest of the team created with metallics!

Memories in the Making – Stampin’ Up! Project Life Blog Hop

January 9, 2016

Watercolor is everywhere right now, for good reason – it’s so gorgeous! I had such fun using the newest Project Life cards from Stampin’ Up! because these cards really use the watercolor theme to create some beautiful images.

Memories in the Making

I used the “Love You” stamp in the Watercolor Wonder color to stamp on top of the 4×6 card.

Memories in the Making

Similarly, I used the “Life is Good” stamp on top of the card that had the watercolor effect, and handcut a heart out of Watermelon Wonder card stock.

Memories in the Making

The only thing I did with these layouts – beside slipping the cards and photos in the photo pages – was to print out “Great America 2015” on a piece of coordinating card stock and cut out the words to adhere to the card. Simple!

These cards have definitely inspired to start playing around with watercolors myself….stay tuned for more. And make sure you check out the rest of the teams posts this month!

My Favorite Kit

November 8, 2015

I was so excited when we decided that for this month’s blog hop theme, we could use our favorite kits. For me, that’s easy – “Moments Like These” is my favorite Stampin’ Up!-Project Life kit EVER! I absolutely LOVE the colors in this kit. The soft green of Mint Macaron, the bright Watermelon Wonder, and the neutral black and Tip Top Taupe colors just complement one another perfectly. Liz Tamanaha designed this kit and she did such an amazing job.

Moments Like These

I’ve been working on a mini 6×8 album where I’m putting a variety of photos and these cards are so versatile that they are great choice for a lot of these little pages.

Moments Like These

I think this card is my favorite one of the bunch. I adore the Mint Macaron green color along with the black and white.

Moments Like These

Here’s where I used it.

The extra embellishment kit has some cute add ons, like this little round sticker.

Project Life Stampin’ Up! Blog Hop – Seasonal Snapshot

October 11, 2015

I love Kraft paper.

I don’t think I’m the only person who feels this way. You see it everywhere in crafts now – from wrapping paper to greeting cards.

So when I opened my new box of Seasonal Snapshot Project Life – Stampin’ Up! scrapbooking cards, I was so excited to see that many of the cards were Kraft paper. The neutral colors of the cards and the cute apple and fall theme matched the photographs of a recent weekend trip. I used a mini album for this trip and I think I’m going to use these small albums more often, as they are super quick and easy!

I think this apple card is my favorite!

I had a great time using my own stash of Stampin’ Up Kraft paper to make my own cards as well. Super easy to cut the 12×12 paper to 4×6 and 3×4 cards and then I stamped as well as used my white Signo pen to draw the “Apple Hill” card freehand.

Project Life Stampin’ Up! Blog Hop – Happy Times

July 12, 2015

Our family had a lot of fun in June, so when it came time to start scrapbooking last month’s photos it was only fitting that this blog hop is using the “Happy Times” collection from Stampin-Up Project Life. This card collection has such fun colors (including two of my favorite colors – Island Indigo and Calypso Coral.) It’s perfect for so many photos especially kid and outdoor snapshots.

Here are a few of my layouts. We loved going to the playground every day in June. It’s about a 10 minute walk from home so it was a perfect way to spend a few hours every morning.

I love this Daily Routine stamp. I know that I’ll be using it over and over again!

And this little stamp is so cute, it’s one of my new favorites.

We had a wonderful family trip to one of the many local farms, Frog Hollow Farm, where we were able to pick peaches and had a lot of fun. Normally they aren’t open to the public but we are members of their CSA program and they had a special event for members.

DIY 5 Minute Project Life Cards

June 10, 2015

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to show you a super easy way to make your own Project Life cards. Best of all, it’s so simple you can make several cards in just a few minutes. You really just need a few basic materials: card stock, White Signo pen, cirle or other shape stamp, paper trimmer, and some ink.

Project Life by L'Enfant Chéri

I was originally inspired to try this after seeing a super adorable heart card in the new Moments Like These Stampin’ Up! – Project Life card collection with the word “lovely” on it. Then I saw some awesome cards with a similar concept, designed by Big City Quiet Designs and featured in a Project Life layout by Turquoise Avenue and I knew I definitely had to try this.

I used a circle stamp (from the Stampin’ Up! “What’s Your Type” set.) You really can use any sort of solid shape for this idea. I think this would also be very cute with a solid heart!

I also cut my own white Project Life cards from Whisper White card stock. Note that when you are making your own Project Life cards, you might want to cut them to 2 and 7/8 inches by 4 inches, as many Project Life page protector pockets aren’t actually a full 3×4 size.

Project Life by L'Enfant Chéri

After I cut my card stock to get plain white cards, I simply stamped the circle onto the card using the new Stampin’ Up! In Colors. After letting it dry for a minute or two, I then took my white Signo pen and hand wrote the sentiment over the stamp. These Signo pens seem to dry fairly quickly – I think a few minutes is fine but it has been fairly warm where I am (100 degrees F on the day I tried this at first!) so make sure to check for yourself how long it takes to dry where you are.

Project Life by L'Enfant Chéri

And that’s how easy it is!

Memory Keeping with Project Life and Stampin’ Up! Blog Hop

June 7, 2015

I’m so excited to share this month’s blog hop with you, because I am absolutely in love with this card collection we are going to share with you! The brand new Moments Like These cards from Stampin’ Up! – Project Life are incredibly beautiful. I think I’ll be using these cards over and over again this year!

One of my favorite things about them is the color theme. They feature some of the new Stampin’ Up! 2015-2017 In Colors, like Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder. Additionally, there are some awesome black and white cards in this collection as well!

My favorite is the Mint Macaron. It’s a gorgeous soft green color and I adore it! I used it to scrapbook some lovely photos that one of my favorite photographers took of my daughter when she was 9 months old.

Project Life by L'Enfant Chéri // Photography by Nicole Monique Photography

These cards can also be used for traditional 12 x 12 layouts as well. Here I just quickly grabbed a few cards and placed them with a photo I took of Sofia at the kitchen table. She always looks so happy when it’s time for a snack! This layout was inspired by a beautiful scrapbook page by the oh-so-creative Alex Hunter Designs.

I love the little peek of Watermelon Wonder color, especially when paired with black. Normally bright colors aren’t my favorite, but I just adore this one!

Project Life by L'Enfant Chéri // Moments Like These

Sometimes a black and white card theme is fun too, and these cards are perfect for that as well. Another fabulous brand new product is the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper. Since those designer papers are black and white patterned, they are super easy to quickly trim down to the size of Project Life cards and slip into the page protectors. Then I just mix and matched them with the black and white cards in the Moments Like These card collection.

Project Life by L'Enfant Chéri // Moments Like These

Often when I’m journaling on a Project Life card, I will print directly onto the card from my home computer. (For how I do that, see my super easy tutorial here.) My current favorite font (inspired by Caillou) is Futura.

Project Life by L'Enfant Chéri // Moments Like These

I love the pop of the red berries against the black and white cards.

Project Life by L'Enfant Chéri // Moments Like These

Finally, here is another 12 x 12 layouts with a few stamps and washi tape, using my new favorite color- Mint Macaron.
